Excellent piece on a sad story Miguel.

Good seeing all those pics of a young Tomic growing up too.

That is a sad one. Hard not to be reminded of Del Potro, who at least has had something of a real career. Thanks, Miguel.

"The first time I watched Souto play, he was just seven years old. I had recently joined a performance squad that trained with a group of well-experienced coaches in my native city of Caracas."

Wow! Performance squad for children 7yo?! Coaches there are in a hurry to reap parents off. They don't even wait until children are 10yo like in some other countries with similar number of top 500 atp players (around zero).

Sad story, but good to read. There are so many young people who have big dreams but most of them can't get all the circumstances right to succeed and fulfill their dreams.

Thanks for sharing it with us, Miguel.
