Not a world group team, but this is a really interesting feature on how Cambodia have risen from the ashes to being a Davis Cup team. Playing tennis in the days of the Khmer Rouge government meant a death sentence.

    Worth a watch!

FYI, 0 ATP rankings points for all Davis Cup ties this year, just like the Olympics.
Existing ATP Davis Cup points will drop off normally after 52 weeks from the round they were earned..

Thanks @masterclass - did they give any particular reason why they dropped the points?

I'm actually happy as I don't think the Davis Cup or Olympics should have a bearing on the points.

I didn't know they had dropped points for DC and Olympics. I definitely agree about the Olympics, but I do think it's fair to get points for DC. It's annual, and it's ATP. But I'm not that fussed.

Canada v. France: Raonic and Nestor have announced they can't play for Canada, Raonic still recovering from adductor tear, Nestor family issue.

Yes @britbox . The ITF refused to economically help the ATP tournaments penalized by the Olympics presence.
So the result is there is a bit of a squabble between the ATP and ITF that extends to the Davis Cup as well.

    ATP Rankings FAQ

Good thing it doesn't extend to the majors... ;)

    Respectfully,
    masterclass

Kyrgios has withdrawn from the Australian team for their Davis Cup tie with the USA after a fitness test.

    He is replaced by....

Wait for it... Lleyton Hewitt. Hewitt is coming out of retirement.

Isner gave the USA their 1st win. Tomic is up on Sock in the 2nd rubber.

    Nole will play tomorrow.

for me most interesting match on friday will be zverev-berdych. if sascha sustains pressure from fans he has good chances to beat Berdych, even if Tomas is good player

Yes... Sascha is really building his profile.. Tomas just pipped him in a battle last month. I'm hoping Zverev takes this one. Will be another stepping stone as part of the youngster's march to the top.
