#NextGen alert: Borna Coric plays Hyeon Chung. Chung is a qualifier, and has fallen off the radar a bit, but he's one of the youngsters folks have had an eye on. Just sayin'....

Chung won: 6-3, 7-5. I guess Coric is still working his way back from injury.

I was actually rooting for Coric, but just wanted Chung to be remembered. I'm like @elDude, in that I'm rooting for all the youngsters to do well enough to bring up an exciting generation of players. Now, had he been playing Tiafoe....;-):

Not a tragedy for the Brazilian hopeful (which I surely believe will achieve very good results at some point), but I guess it might be the first of many losses in hard courts. He still trains in a Brazilian tennis academy that surely has no clue on hard courts. Last year his results were awful in this surface and they simply never put him to play the tournaments... The guy has a huge forehand so he should do better on hards.

No surprise that RBA won here. Cilic losing to somebody I don't know much about is a big surprise for me.

Congrats to Roberto. He really needed not to blow that opportunity. Cilic? Always a head-scratcher, win OR lose.
