Novak Djokovic beats Kei Nishikori to win title in Toronto
World number one Novak Djokovic returned to tournament winning ways with a straight-sets win over Kei Nishikori in the final of the Rogers Cup in Toronto.
Djokovic won in straight sets 6-3 7-5 and rarely looked troubled by Nishikori. It was his seventh title of the year and his ninth consecutive win over his Japanese rival.
The 29-year-old, who has now won seven titles this year, has beaten the Japanese on nine successive occasions.
In the post-match interview, Djokovic admitted it took a number of matches to develop rhythm and get back to his best form.
